Job Summary

The Operations Officer will be responsible for overseeing the sourcing, handling, and export of avocados, ensuring efficiency, quality control, and compliance with international export standards. This role involves coordinating with farmers, suppliers, logistics providers, and regulatory agencies to ensure smooth operations from farm to market.

Key Responsibilities

1. Oversee the sourcing and procurement of high-quality avocados from farmers and suppliers
2. Ensure compliance with international export standards, including quality control and phytosanitary regulations
3. Manage logistics and supply chain operations to ensure timely delivery of avocados for export
4. Coordinate with farmers to provide training on best agricultural practices and post-harvest handling
5. Monitor inventory, packing, and storage processes to maintain product freshness
6. Liaise with export agencies, freight companies, and customs officials to facilitate smooth shipment processes
7. Track market trends and advise on pricing strategies to maximize profitability
8. Implement operational improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
9. Prepare operational and financial reports for management review
10. Address operational challenges and find solutions to improve workflow

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Experience

1. Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
2. Experience in agribusiness, fresh produce exports, logistics, or supply chain management (preferably in horticultural exports)

Skills & Competencies

1. Strong knowledge of agricultural supply chains and export procedures
2. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
3. Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders (farmers, suppliers, logistics teams, and regulatory bodies)
4. Strong communication and negotiation skills
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory management systems
