Job Description
On behalf of our client, we are seeking a highly competent Senior HR Officer. This role requires a hands-on HR professional capable of managing statutory compliance, HRIS data integrity, project workforce mobilization, and end-to-end employee lifecycle processes in a fast-paced construction environment.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all operational policies, working arrangements, and employment practices strictly comply with the Tanzania Employment and Labour Relations Act (ELRA) R.E 2023 and local statutory regulations.
- HRIS & Master Data Management: Maintain accurate employee data within the HRIS/ERP system, ensuring master records, personnel information, and documentation are continuously updated and audited.
- Facilitate smooth and timely workforce deployment to construction project sites, coordinating required onboarding, documentation, and site orientations.
- Track employment contracts and expiry dates, managing timely renewals, leave, transfers, probationary confirmations, promotions, and exit procedures.
- Coordinate the annual and probationary appraisal processes, tracking KPI submissions, performance reviews, and follow-up actions across departments.
- Plan and execute employee training programs, maintain complete training records, and track completion rates and post-training evaluations.
- Prepare routine HR operational reports, monitor internal audit compliance, and ensure all mandatory employee documentation is archived and readily available.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Law or Human Resources Management.
- Proven practical competency in core HR functions is strictly required.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience; prior experience within a construction, engineering, or project-based company is a strong advantage.
- Deep understanding of Tanzanian labor laws, proficiency in HRIS/ERP systems, strong organizational capabilities, and excellent reporting skills in English and Swahili.
