STRUCTURAL ENGINEER

On behalf of our client, we are looking the structural engineer. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the structural design verification, technical supervision, and quality assurance of all bridge and structural elements within the project including foundations, substructures, superstructures, culverts, and retaining structures.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and validate structural design drawings, calculations, and specifications for bridges and related structures.
• Prepare or check structural shop drawings, bar bending schedules, and falsework/formwork designs.
• Provide technical supervision for bridge works: piling, pile caps, abutments, piers, bearings, girders/beams, deck slabs, and expansion joints.
• Conduct structural inspections at key hold points and sign off on works prior to subsequent activities.
• Ensure compliance with AASHTO LRFD, BS, Eurocodes, and TANROADS Bridge Design Manual as applicable.
• Carry out structural analysis using software such as SAP2000, CSi Bridge, or MIDAS Civil where required.
• Review concrete mix designs and witness concrete pours, post-tensioning, and load tests.
• Investigate and propose engineering solutions for structural non-conformances, defects, or design clashes.
• Coordinate with the Highway Engineer on geometric/structural interface (e.g. bridge approaches, deck levels).
• Prepare technical reports, RFIs, and as-built documentation for structural elements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering or a related field
• Registered by ERB as a Professional Engineer mandatory.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in structural design and/or supervision
• Strong working knowledge of AASHTO, and TANROADS standards.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software
