Job Description

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a highly driven Sales & Operations Lead to spearhead the coffee business in Tanzania and expand into other agro commodities. The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial, commercially aggressive, operationally organized, and capable of growing the business on the ground. This role combines commercial sales, supplier relationship management, export logistics, and market intelligence to deliver sustainable growth.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage coffee sourcing and trading operations in Tanzania.
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, cooperatives, and exporters.
  • Identify opportunities in sesame, cashew, pulses, spices, and other agro commodities.
  • Coordinate logistics, documentation, warehousing, and export processes.
  • Monitor market trends, pricing, and competitor activity.
  • Support contract negotiations and execution.
  • Oversee daily operations across suppliers, warehouses, ports, and clients.
  • Represent the professionally in meetings and industry events.
  • Develop sales strategies to expand market share and drive revenue growth.
  • Ensure quality control by monitoring product standards and compliance with export requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, sales or related
  • 5–10 years of experience in coffee and/or agro commodity trading.
  • Strong knowledge of the Tanzanian agricultural market.
  • Proven experience in sales, sourcing, export operations, or commodity logistics.
  • Established network within the coffee/agro commodity sector (preferred).
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and drive business growth.
  • Fluent in English is a strong advantage.
