Job Purpose:
The Sales Personnel will be responsible for managing and expanding relationships with clients within the FMCG industry, with a focus on alcoholic beverages. The role involves driving sales, maximizing account profitability, and ensuring customer satisfaction
Key Responsibilities:
1. Customer Relationship Management:
- Developing relationships with clients: Build and maintain strong relationships with regular clients such as bars, restaurants, liquor stores, and event organizers.
- Client outreach: Regularly communicate with current and prospective clients to understand their needs, inform them of new products or promotions, and ensure repeat business.
- Handling inquiries: Address client questions about product availability, pricing, and delivery schedules.
2. Sales and Order Processing:
- Product recommendations: Use product knowledge to guide clients in selecting the right products based on their business needs or preferences.
- Order management: Assist customers in placing orders, ensuring accuracy in quantities and product specifications, and verifying that all orders are processed correctly.
- Meeting sales targets: Strive to meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets by actively seeking new clients and upselling products to existing customers.
3. Product Knowledge:
- Extensive product expertise: Know the details of the liquor products being sold, including wine, spirits, beer, and other beverages. This includes understanding flavor profiles, brand history, origin, and pricing.
- Explaining products to clients: Educate clients on new products, suggest complementary products, and provide insights on industry trends to help them make informed purchasing decisions.
4. Inventory Management:
- Stock monitoring: Work with inventory management teams to ensure products are always available. Report low-stock items to avoid shortages and ensure timely restocking.
- Order fulfillment: Ensure that customer orders are accurately picked, packed, and delivered on time, minimizing delays or errors in order processing.
- Product rotation: Ensure proper rotation of stock, especially with perishable products like wine, to minimize losses due to expiration.
5. Sales Reporting and Analytics:
- Tracking sales performance: Record and analyze sales data to identify trends, evaluate performance, and inform future sales strategies.
- Providing feedback: Share insights with management on customer preferences, slow-moving products, and competitive pricing, helping to adjust inventory and marketing plans.
6. Promotion and Marketing:
- Promote specials and discounts: Inform clients of any ongoing promotions, discounts, or bulk purchase incentives.
- Collaborate on marketing campaigns: Work with marketing teams to implement promotional activities, such as product launches, tastings, and in-store events, to drive sales and attract new customers.
7. Handling Customer Complaints:
- Conflict resolution: Address and resolve customer complaints related to product quality, delivery issues, or pricing disputes. Ensure client satisfaction while maintaining company policies.
- Returns and exchanges: Facilitate the return or exchange process for products, ensuring all issues are handled professionally and in compliance with store policy.
8. Market and Competitor Analysis:
- Monitor competitors: Keep track of what competitors are offering in terms of pricing, promotions, and product range, and report back to management to inform business strategies.
- Stay updated on trends: Follow trends in the liquor industry to advise customers on emerging products and shifts in consumer demand.
9. Event and Vendor Coordination:
- Coordinate tastings and events: Arrange product tastings or demonstrations with vendors or within the store to promote new products and educate clients.
- Vendor relationships: Maintain relationships with suppliers to stay informed of new products and pricing changes.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the FMCG industry, with a strong preference for candidates with experience in alcoholic beverages.
- Proven success in managing key accounts and achieving sales targets.
- Experience in the wine and spirits sector is highly desirable and will be an added advantage.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to analyze market trends and translate them into actionable strategies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with CRM systems.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or any related field.
- Professional certifications in sales or account management would be advantageous.
